Wenzile Madonsela-Msimanga

Wenzile Madonsela-Msimanga is a democracy defender and an activist. She is studying towards her LLB and she plans to pursue Master’s degree in Human Rights Law.

She served as the transformation officer at the Black Lawyers Association in 2015 and 2016 and she is the Company Secretary and Chief Ambassador at the Thuli Madonsela Foundation which seeks to deepen and to defend democracy through concerted dialogues, advocacy, research and training.

At the age of twenty, Wenzile dabbled in politics as the General Secretary and later, the Social Welfare Officer at the University of Pretoria branch of the EFF Student Command. During her term, her branch played an important role in the move towards the insourcing of university workers and the implementation of transformation policies during the ‘Afrikaans Must Fall’ campaign. She was involved in the research required for Advocate Thuli Madonsela’s book, ‘Our Time – No more Tea Makers’.

Whilst pursuing her studies, she committed to serving her community and relentlessly seeks social justice. She started a woman’s leadership training programme called The Princess Chronicles, training young women on self-acceptance, living consciously, acting with integrity, living purposefully, being assertive and critical, successfully adapting to the digital revolution and how to function in a global village.

She is the co-founder and Director at Unafundo Pty Ltd., a financial services consultancy which supports and develops businesses and entrepreneurs by providing services, skills transfer and an innovative approach to business. Financial and business literacy training is at the heart of Unafundo as it is a key tool for longevity and sustainability of business throughout the continent.

Wenzile Madonsela-Msimanga exhibits admirable work ethic – she has learnt the art of when to lead, to follow or accompany like-minded young people. She is a devoted ambassador for 67Blankets and the Change Makers Hub.
