GiGi Diaz has shown a passion for all things journalism from a very young age. A passion that has brought her to be the first Hispanic sports reporter to work with the United States Trotting Association covering international races like the Breeder’s Crown, Little Brown Jug, and the Hambletonian

She has over 15 years experience as on-air talent and producer on both radio and television on stations such as Radio Disney, 95.7FM (WRMA), iHeart Radio’s 93.9FM (WMIA), 92.1 (WRLX) TU949 (WZTU) and TV shows like “Arte Mundo Latino” (CanalSur/Estudio5), “Arrebatados” on America TeVe among many others.

She has experience covering sports, entertainment, and news before and behind the camera.

GiGi’s career in journalism began at an early age as the cofounder of the publication En Contacto Newspaper, publication covering the local beat, politics, and entertainment. Her time with EC Newspaper warded GiGi the entrepreneurial, marketing, and journalistic experience on which she has continued to build her career. While with EC Newspaper, GiGi worked as graphic designer, writer, and often as sales rep, selling over 50% of the publication’s advertising.

All of these roles, while challenging to balance, provided her with networking skills, a large database of contacts, extensive experience dealing with strict deadlines, and the opportunity to conduct interviews for her columns with celebrities such as Cristina Saralegui, Paulina Rubio, Pedro Moreno, Jencarlos Canela, Carlos Vives, among many others. Charismatic, self-motivated, dynamic, and innovative, GiGi brings freshness to any screen and page. Born in Cuba, where she received training at ICRT (Instituto Cubano de Radio y Television) and later migrating to the USA and adopting American culture while furthering her training, she’s empowered by a diverse background and experiences that allow her to relate to both cultures, making her writing and reporting styles welcoming to all in a fully bilingual manner.

GiGi has been chosen to host numerous television programs reporting on local news as well entertainment pieces; hosting; and interviewing personalities in the entertainment field- Rakim y Ken-Y, Tiempo Libre, Vacilos- as well as politicians such as and Governor Christine Todd Whitman, Mayor Julio Robaina, and others.

During her journalism internship with Telemundo Network GiGi’s ability to learn quickly, adapt to most work environments, and succeed under pressure earned her the opportunity to work closely with professionals such as Jose Diaz-Balart, Maria Celeste Arraras… and awarded her the role of Field Producer for the network’s national news cast Noticiero Telemundo as well as Al Rojo Vivo for numerous pieces and live shots.
